new truck

well i've been thinkin about gettin rid of my ranger (because its my parent's and they use it against me) and buying my own vehicle.i was originally thinking about buying a cheap used car like a escort or focus or civic. but i got to thinking if im gonna make an investment why not make a good one? i looked online at new rangers and a base single cab 4x2 goes for like $15K. not bad at all. so i went down to the local dealer today and picked one out and the salesguy did some figures and stuff and said i could get it for $13.5k with a $500 down payment. its a 2008 Ranger single cab 4x2 2.3L 5 spd... wut do u guys think? i think $13.5k is a great deal.

but one off lease or a couple years old. you save the hit of depreciation and its basically a new truck. i bought mine for the exact reason as you did i used to have a 97 thunderbird and an 04 ranger is amazing to me. plus you can get a better truck itll just have a lil miles on it.

thats a good deal, and a great truck that gets excellent gas mileage as I drive the same. It has plenty of power for a 2.3 esp with a stick behind it, its really a blast to drive. Is it a xlt or xl?

yea see i was thinkin about gettin used and i just love the idea of being the only one to own the truck... cuz wen u buy used u NEVER kno just wut has been done to or with the truck. if its urs from day one then u can make sure its never neglected. idk i'll look into some used ones with lower miles too.

Thought the same thing your thinking man, my parents wanted me to get a crappy car like that. I said if I'm spending all my money on a vehicle I mine as well make it worth it. I originally wanted a prelude but I couldnt afford the insurance so I waited a while and saved up enough cash and bought myself the ranger, and got an awesome deal on it and its in like new condition. I'm pretty happy with the choice I made..

the only problem right now is the economy... my dad doesnt wanna cosign so i'd have to end up with a kind of crappy APR.

have you checked the price on insurance?

what about the interest rate? figure in plates too

do you have a steady job? planning on staying with that job until the truck is paid for?

go over the numbers he mentions again make sure they add up

It helps, but its not like their is tons of snow if california, along with the very low amount of mud there to since it barely rains lol.
