I did a quick search and didn't really find what I was looking for.
I did find somthing about the frame being the same from 83 to current.

What is the width of the front of the frame on the ranger?
Is it true that the frame is identical from 83 up?

I have a plow setup I am trying to match to a Ranger but not my DD Ranger.

Can't help on a 83, but on my 2003 the width between the front rails at the very front is exactly 26.5". The rails I think were either 2" or 2.5" wide at the front, boxed in.

 

outside to outside is 30-33"

i measured it s bunch but i forgot

So....

03 = 26.5 inside to inside and a little over 30 out to out.
99 = ~30 out to out and probably the same 26.5 inside to inside

My plow frame is:
23 3/4 inside to inside
27 3/4 outside to outside

guess I'd have to hope it works or have some flat stock added to widen it.
Maybe early 90's or 80's are a bit narrower?

 

yea the rails are between 3 and 3 1/2" wide between the front and the firewall i believe

 

alright guy im looking to find a brush guard off fb market or craiglist im sure i can save a few 100$ that way and i don't mind repurposing a old one
what i need to know is if any ones know what other models trucks have the same frame with as a 04 ranger supercab xlt 4wd
or at the lest what width i would need to be looking
