Which front hitch goes thru the bumper?
I tried to search but didnt come up with a name, there is one hitch that comes out under the bumper and one that goes thru the center of the bumper...which brand is it?

You'll probably have to get rid of your tow hooks, but I guess it would be alright with a hitch there.

i really didnt want to get rid of the tow hooks.
was going to buy a part at a time for the removeable winch setup i want. was going to run the front and rear lines for the quick disconnect then modify some jumper cables with the quick disconnect for emergencies. |
Not 100% sure how they mount but i know my custom front hitch is mounted where the tow hooks were. That's probably the best spot to mount it since it was designed to support the tow hooks anyway. Besides all you'll need is a hitch pin to connect a strap to or get a receiver shackle and you're set.

I have the Reese one I think... I is hidden behind where your stock License plate is, so I use an adapter to continue to run a front plate there. But I kept my tow hooks.. They attach at totally different points...
Sorry, can't find a pic right now.. There are some in the most recent Wharton threads (Day 3 at April 2006 Wharton: big crew!) but the server they were posted on isn't working, so I can't link to it right now... PM me if you have any q's you think I can answer for you. Don - Edit... Here you go: (The valance is also cut a little bit because of the 2" BL I have... It fit really cleanly when I first put it on, with no BL) http://www.blckout.com/Griggs/Wharto...20(Medium).JPG |
Reese comes under the valence
Hidden Hitch comes thru the opening between the valence and bumper, Stock tow hooks can still be used |
