front suspension squeak

i have a 99 xlt and i noticed after a long cold winter my suspension developed a squeak that occurs over bumps, turning ..... general suspension movement, i was wondering if there are any short term fixes or if someone knows what this could be, i kinda wanna do an all over lube to make things work smoother but i have no idea where to begin. or how to lube a suspension. lower ball joints were recently replaced so i dont think it could be those, and the uppers check fine. but and help would be appreciated, wd-40 is stasrtin to sound like my best friend

As long as all your ball joints have grease fitting pack all of them up.

Sway bar links are prone to squeaky, spray em down with WD.

Might want to jack up the front and and spin the wheels and make sure your bearings are good.

Hold the wheel at the top and the bottom and push. Push on the top and then the bottom. It shouldn't move.

i believe the noise is coming from where the arm meets the frame

Maybe the bushings on the control arms need to be replaced. Check and see how those look.

Go out and look lol.

You'll have a better view if you jack her up and take the wheel off on that side. Just check out all the rubber bushings on the front suspension. Basically anywhere a bolt and nut come together. If one is blown out or deteriorated that would be the culprit.

I'm putting money on the bushings. They can get pretty squeaky.
Ball joints don't squeak, they clunk, pop, etc. when they go bad.

Most likely your lower control arm bushings. Have you replaced the upper ball joints before? If so I wouldn't suspect the upper control arm bushings because when you replace the UBJ it comes in the UCA. Check the condition of the LCA bushing, they are probably shot like mine.

MoPar guy told me to put brake fluid on bushings. Is that better than WD?

It's the bushings right in the front, not sure on what part. They have dried out My 2005 does it. I sprayed and sprayed them it works for a while then it starts again. I didn't want to get into changing them so I'm just going to keep spraying them with every oil change.

Mine has done it for the last 4 years.

I know the thread is a bit old but it's what comes up at the top on google so I figured I'd share how I fixed the problem.

All I did was install grease zerks in everything, ball joints, tie rod ends, and control arm bushings. Just drill a hole right in the middle and shove a zerk in it. Squirt grease into it until it squirts out the ends, problem solved.

On the bushings I drilled through the center of the tube the bushing goes in from the bottom and through the bushing until I hit the bolt that goes through the arm. Put in the zerk and pumped grease until it came out either side of the bushing.

One note, you probably would have a lot easier time with this if you get a tap and actually tap the holes for the zerks. I just kind of shoved my zerks into the holes, half of them pulled out when I tried to pull the grease gun off, oh well, I'll just shove a new one in there if I ever need to grease them again.
