Fuel comes back out while pumping gas
I have 2003 Ford Ranger 4x4 4.0l. It takes me about 10 minutes to put $20 worth a gas in it because i cant hold the handle down without it gargling and spitting gas back out on the truck.

Your vent hose for the gas tank is clogged or filler tube is
In the filler tube at the top will be vent hole(s), this lets air out while gasoline goes in Look up your replacement filler tube and you will see the smaller vent tube that is part of the filler tube It connects to the gas tank with a rubber hose, which can get a kink in it, as can the filler tube's larger hose connection See if you can feel around at the top of the tank, or lift or slide the bed back to view these hoses If the fuel pump was changed, shops usually lower the gas tank to do that, when they put it back in they can kink these hoses, which is why lifting the bed or sliding it back is the better way to replace fuel pumps on Rangers |
Thank you I will give it a try!

I had something similar to this but instead of spitting out gas would just go all over the floor of the gas station found out it was the filler tube mine had dry rotted out
