Left cruise control pod

I just noticed a few days ago that my cruise control pod on the left (on/off) doesn't light up like the right side buttons.

Are there bulbs to replace in those things?

That sucks. I guess I'm on the hunt for a new left pod.

If the OP is referring to the steering wheel pods, there is in fact a bulb in there to replace. It's soldered into a plastic retainer with metal tabs molded into it. The retainer unscrews from the circuit board and then you just replace the whole thing instead of soldering another bulb in there.

Don't go to a dealer for this item as you'll be about $25 out of pocket. I'd go to the j/y with a multimeter and start tearing apart steering wheels from Rangers, Explorers, and Mountaineers. The overlay is different on the Explorers and Mountaineers but you can put your own overlay in it's place once the bulb is replaced.

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 8530)

I'd put LEDs in there. The factory bulbs are soldered in, so you're not talking about the difference between plug-in and solder-in. I put LEDs in mine, and faced them toward the rear of the pods (the back of the pods are painted white, so this works very well to give an even glow) since LEDs are brighter and more directional.
