What kind of deal did you get on A New Ranger 4x4?
Hi,
Just wanting to know what kind of deal you got buying a 2009 Ranger 4x4?
I went yesterday to my local Ford dealership & drove a 2009 Ranger XLT 4x4. The sticker price $26,375. Rebates of $2,500 off of $26,375 brought it down to $23,875. They offered me $12,000 for my 2005 Ranger 4x2 Tremor, its got about 9,100 miles on it. Didn't come down anymore off of that price of the new truck. Wanting to know if you think they would come down anymore? Rebates on 2008 Ranger 4x4 was $3,000 but they didn't have any on the lot. They located 3 from distances of 70 to 400 miles away in my color choice which was white, silver & gray. Also drove a 2009 F150 XLT RC 4x2 ,it sticker price $26,505 with $3,000 rebate, nice truck. Thanks for any help,James

Graniteguy, The MSRP $23,010 before opitions, so your saying $2,000 off of the $23,875 bring it down too $21,875. They offered me $11,000 for my truck the 1st offer. I was think on ordering me a Ranger with the things I wanted & could I get the same deal that way? Thanks for your help, James

Tanker: MSRP and invoice are 2 different things. I'm pretty sure invoice is what the dealer pays for the truck. For example see here:
http://autos.yahoo.com/2009_ford_tru...leside_2_door/
According to Yahoo, MSRP for a ranger super cab 4x4 XLT 4.0 5 speed is $22,305 but "invoice" is $20,637. Graniteguy is saying to use the invoice price as a starting point, not MSRP.

what jeff said is correct. there is an invoice price. I've had no problems (in the past) getting invoice price minus rebates. I never had a trade in to deal with though. There are 3 opportunities to get a bad/good deal. The price, the trade in, and the financing. I've had harder times with the financing than the sales price. Part of the rebate is using ford financing at 9%. That high rate will use up those extra rebate dollars.

Wait, your 05 has 9,100 miles? is that a typo?
And as for my deal on a ford ranger, i didnt get one, they wouldnt wheel and deal and really werent interested in selling me anything other than what was immediatly on their lots.
I drove to Mazda, they sold me the exact truck i wanted, and had it freighted from another city in 48 hours.

yes, they can show you the Invoice. If the msrp is 25, the invoice should be around 23. Subtract the rebates from that (ex: 2k rebate), then the final price would be 21K + taxes, title, license.
look at the link that jeffb502 posted. The invoice amount is listed with the msrp.
My 2004 4.0 4x4 was under $20,000 when I bought it new and they had to get it in from another dealer. they either want to sell you one or they don;t. if they don't, someone else will.

Well, Im gonna go out on a limb here and say that Tanker wants a 4x4.
I paid 19,500 for my 2008 (this is why I didnt buy a Tacoma lol). That was after the $2000 "factory cash" discount.
With my $4000 trade and $2500 down payment. I only had to finance $13,000.
You just gotta play the game with the dealership. I pretended to walk out 3 times during the negotiation. Originally, they were trying to get $24,000 for my truck. I used the argument that it already 100 miles of test drives on it to my advantage too.

My truck: XLT, 4.0, Automatic, 3.73 limited slip, 4x4, CD player, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, 60/40 split bench seats, 4 doors, tow package (class 3 hitch), and... I think thats about it. Basically its a "fully loaded XLT" with almost every option that the XLT comes with. Sticker was 24k and change.

08XLT4x4,
Your right, I don't really care for power windows & tilt w/cruise, sliding rear window or the sat.radio. I do like the wheels & tires, the privacy glass ,the chrome mirror caps and bright stepbars.. If I could order one it wouldn't have the things I don't really care for.
