Fuse Box Supply Wire

On my '84 Ranger 2.3 standard cab, there is a serious electrical problem.
There is a faulty connection between the battery and the main fuse box. Sometimes there are full headlights and ignition power, sometimes no lights, no power. It has to be the feed to the fuse box if it affects the headlights.

Does anyone have the wiring diagram showing the positive lead which runs from the starter relay on the fender, to the fuse box?
Are there any junctions in this run? This is a fusible link with orange wire. Haynes does not show this supply wire for the fuse box.

Any ideas where the bad connection could be? It's either full power or nothing at all - no lights, dash lights, ignition, nada. Battery & alternator are good.

Thanks ,

Gordon

Hi Maurice,

Thank you for the wiring diagram pages. They do help because they show connections on that fusible link wire BEFORE it reaches the lights & fuse box. Probably on the driver inner fender. Now to locate the problem.

This is a valuable resource. Bookmarked!

Yes, I just realized that Ford only started Ranger production in 1983.
