I had a set for sale at 20 dollars and everyone thought I was trying to rob them so I abandoned the group buy...
They would PM me saying they could get them off ebay for 12 dollars and this and that. Then they would link me to FX4 ones not FX2 ones. /rant

Im going to do a little background.... Back in ~04 on the old GenEdge forum Brian(used to own a Tremor and now has a lvl2) came up with the FX2 idea. He posted about having a vinyl guy he knew make 10 sets of these. They would be the EXACT size, font, and color of the OEM 2003 FX4 Off-Road stickers. With that I started the modding and so called project on my old truck to make it into a legitimate "FX2"
No disrespect to other trucks on this site, because I know the time, money and effort that we all put into these trucks, but it saddens me when I see some of the trucks on here with so called FX2 stickers.
First are the stickers that don’t even look like a OEM FX4 Off-Road sticker; be it the color or font. Secondly... unless you have a 2002+ edge(so fx4 ride height/suspension, 8.8 axel w/ 4.10s, body style) and then you add the other features that come on the FX4 (Bilsteins, hitch, front hooks, non edge rims, LS, gauge cluster, etc) then to me you are a poser.
When I had the truck; that was my favorite cosmetic thing I did to it. But when I’ve seen all the threads over the years about the other FX2 sticker/decals/etc it kind of saddens me. Alright off my high horse I go

I'm bring this thread back up from the grave!!
1. Trent, did you ever do anymore research on this? What was the consensus? Did the decal shop by you make them for a good price and did they look legit?
2. Has anyone had their FX4, FX2, or 4x4 Off Road logos PAINTED on? I was thinking that maybe when i have my truck repainted in a few years I could have them paint on some FX2 Off Road logos on the side to the exact specs and position of the FX4 Off Road stickers.
3. FX2 doesn't exist. True. But if "pretending" is such a crime why do so many people lift their 2WDs? Try explaining to them that it's pointless.

I know you really post on here much anymore but honestly, who the hell do you think you are? You even stated that you were on a high horse and that you understand that people put a lot of work into their trucks yet you bash them and talk sh*t anyway. That goes for anyone who agrees with your post and the mind set you have on the subject.
If your truck was the "prime example" of what a "FX2 Off Road" should be then their are some SERIOUS discrepancies in your reasoning. You say that a FX2 Off Road has to have everything from the factory that a FX4 Off Road has EXCEPT four wheel drive before it can be called an FX2 Off Road or in a sense wear the stickers that we are currently discussing. That would be:
Skid plates
Chrome bumpers
Torsion bar suspension (as with all 4x4s)
Plastic, unpainted flares
Silver gauges
28-spline 8.8 rear axle w/ Trac-Loc L/S, 4.10s, and 10 inch drum brakes
4.0 SOHC
Super cab
Color insert bucket seats
2.5 inch rear lift blocks
Bilsteins
Decals
16x7 FX4 wheels
BFG All-terrains
Plastic, unpainted front valence
Fog lights
Tow hooks
And to my knowledge that is it.
From what I can tell from your photobucket pictures of your old truck you were missing a lot of the elements that you say are required to reach "FX2 Status". I have seen that you sold an Edge bumper setup and your black gauges so apparently you did go chrome and add silver gauges but you did have FX2 decals on before that so I think this still applies. You don't (didn't) have:
Chrome bumpers
Plastic, unpainted flares
28-spline 8.8 rear axle w/ Trac-Loc L/S, 4.10s, and 10 inch drum brakes
4.0 SOHC
Super cab
Color insert bucket seats
2.5 inch rear lift blocks (Edges have 2 inch rear lift blocks)
Decals
Plastic, unpainted front valence
So if you are the authority on FX2s then you need to walk the walk and talk the talk. You also say they have to be 02-03 Edges to start with and truthfully they could be 04-05 Edges or 06+ Sport.
I am making my vehicle into a FX2 Level II and I have coil springs and I have a 2000. It is gonna be a lot of work and I don't want ALL of the things that came on the Level II but it's gonna be what I want and it's gonna be a bada** 2WD. I am PERSONALLY insulted by your post and it goes against everything I am trying to do.
So remember since there was never a real FX2 Off Road there is no specs to follow on the vehicle and there are no requirements to adhere to. By making any vehicle something that it is not that makes the vehicle a poser and the owner to. So before you post your .02 cents think about what you are going to say before you dis yourself.

thats what im tallking about lol....everyone on here is here for the sole reason of fixing up there trucks. weither it may be putting on fx2 stickers or sasing their truck. and im sure 90% of us ranger members didnt even know half the stuff we could do to our trucks that we do now. and for some one to say that your being a poser wouldnt he be considered a poser also...wouldnt all the guys that put on 06 badges mirrors and tails be posers and what about the guys that do front end conversions.. so pretty much that means almost every member on here has done something to their truck to make them a poser lol....
