I'm having bad thoughts
I've been really wanting to get a jeep lately. I've wanted one since I was a kid and I have 3 trucks right now. One that will be sold soon. then I have the ranger 4x4 and the f150. I'm not getting rid of the f150. So what I am thinking is selling the 4x4 which I will be able to make what I put into it easily. So I'm thinking buy a slightly older wrangler and put some cash in my pocket and just DD the f150. That way I can have a dedicated trail toy and put some cash towards school.
Thoughts?
This is just thoughts running through my head figured I'd get your opinions on it.

you can do it.....ya. But....think about the fact that you have the "perfect ranger" that you wanted ATM...and ask yourself this. If your gunna use it as a "trail rig" how much of an excuse is that actually gunna be? Are you really gunna get into wheelin it? or is just another thing you WANT.

Valid point. I could try and find a gen 1-3 to build, but I kinda like the idea of being able to sit more then 2.

The thing that has held me back from doing any real wheeling is that all the good places are about 1-4 hours away. I'd hate to fix my ranger up and drive it there and break it. Then be SOL. At least with an older jeep I can trailer it there and if I dent it up or scratch the paint I would feel bad about it. The paint is perfect on this ranger.
if your really gunna wheel any truck, you got to getover this whole pefect paint thing and the unevitable of breaking stuff.
I always drive my truck to the trail...and back. Rangers are super reliable, and until you SAS one or something, itll be FINE. Paint, getover it. If you use that as an excuse now, itll be your excuse later. Seriously. not tryna be a deuch or over persuade...but im serious.

I hear ya randy, but I started out a mustang guy. So paint IS very important to me when a vehicle is in nice shape. Which is why I have been so hesitant to take this truck any where. I screwed the clear coat up on my other ranger pretty bad and regretted it. Its not that I think jeeps are the only offroad vehicle out there. I'd wheel an older ranger if I had one. I just dont see the point in destroying something that is in good shape when you have an option of getting something that is already a little banged up.

i could go on arguing with you forever but in the end its your money and your vehicle getting beat up. imo theres just not much fun in having something else that over half the people on the trail have too. its just fun having something different from the group and theres more pride in it. besides, you'll get to grow into your truck that way in terms of how your driving skills progress. but in the end, im just a confused asian boy with a big truck giving you a good arguement

lol but yes, the jeep idea would be cool. i've wanted one for a while now also but would prefer a Bronco with a 351 just because i drove one the other day and its ****ing sick...turning radius is really good too and perfect for the trails around here.

haha its all good man. Thats why I posted on here to hear people opinions. I enjoy the truck a lot. Just like I did my other rangers I've had. I may just step down to an older ranger. Who knows. I'm not doing anything till after the knoxville meet so it gives me time to really think about it.
lol, so true.

lol yeah yeah. I know i'm a bit indecisive when it comes to cars. I just like to consider all my options. It also never hurts to get outside opinions like yours.

and it may be modified, but you'll always find something to change.

Dude even if you just buy it and fix it you could make some decent cash of it! and I will always put my own twist on something. Like my mustang it was almost perfect, but I changed a few things to make it mine.

thats what i'm trying to do. I dont "need" two trucks per say. I have the f150 that I am NOT getting rid of. So if one goes it's the ranger. I have a few weeks before i'll actually do anything. So I have plenty of time to decide.
