D. maybe able to shed some light on the subject. Gas being this low isn't really a good thing.

To some people it is a hell of a good thing.

hope it stays this way. I live in Muncie, IN and its around $1.79, but 2 hrs south in Indy its like $1.34 a gallon. how can that be? oh well. now that its cheaper it means more trips to the muddin pits and dunes.

gas may be going down and at 1.41 it is cheap.. maybe too cheap.
since there are massive layoffs there are thousand maybe 100s of thousands of people now filing for unemployment. the politicians will have to find that money somewhere.. so what to do ? raise the state gas tax for easy money right away.
so don't be surprised if that happens in your state..like they are talking/battling about here right now in Mass.

the price of gas may have gone down quickly but it can go up easily as fast if not faster. if you have no job gas at $0.75/gal is too expensive.

and if you notice.. food isn't getting any cheaper. we can live without gas but not
without food ....

They've been stuck at $1.79 here for a while now with a few stations being as low as $1.74 this morning. Those few were down to $1.71 over the weekend but came back up again. If it would drop a bit more and stay there, maybe we would see this economy turn around, but I look to see it climb back up again in time for the holidays and again after the inauguration. Word has it that our new leaders intend to ban offshore oil drilling here and end the search for new oil. Just the thought of that will drive prices up even though they get little to no oil right now off the Mid Atlantic coast.

I'm wondering what's the catch? This just don't haul off and happen for any reason. Somethings up. I'm expecting an increase in gas tax...... :(
