Gas Tank Swap ????

ok guys so i have a question and i have been searching around the site and i couldnt find anything about swapping gas tanks... i have a 13 gallon tank and i was reading that some rangers have a 17 gallon tank and im just curious if you can swap them ? if so would it be compicated what all would you need?

I have a 19.5 gallon, so there's more room for improvement, Also I think that some reg cabs came with 20 gallon.

^^^EXACTLY!! Add cab and bed configuration as well..


you could always put in a fuel cell or a in-bed mounted tank.




BUT...stock for stock, you might be able to make something work. But I will say, there's a reason Ford didn't put 20gal tanks in a reg cab short bed....room.

haha yeah i have a 2001 short bed regular cab so yall think there just isnt enough room for something bigger?

also there is about 4-5 different fuel pumps for all the different tanks so try and find one with the right fuel pump

haha no i really dont trust me i have run that son of a gun till it just about stopped and it only filled up to a little under 13 i mean it is probably because i have the 3.0 i guess ford figured 13 gallons was all you'd need haha
