glassing....

I've been glassing sun up till sun down today and i cant imagine what im making will ever work. I made the custom mold myself and it looked really sweet, but since i've started to lay out the fibers and resin it looks like ****. I really need some suggestions and what not on how to make this thing paintable smooth. I've custom made a ton of stuff out of bondo and wood so i do have some skills in this area, just not fiberglass yet... Ill post pics of what i got so far if anyone wants to see it.

its all about sanding, if you have air tools it will go alot easier. but you gotta sand it with rough grit to get it evn, then wet sand it smooth then keep adding fiber, and letting it dry and keep sanding until you are convinced its thick and strong enough for what you are using it for.

are you using kitty hair or just fiberglass?

im not sure what kitty hair is but I think thats what im using with the resin. It rips really easy and moves all over the place when i try to put resin on it. I could have used just this clean woven looking material but i chose the one I described. Should I be using something different?

kitty hair is bondo and the fibers mixed together, you are probably using fiberglass matting.

you made a frame, covered if with felt and soaked it in resin already right?
