going from 33's to 35's with....

i have a 4.0 with an automatic tranny, an aftermarket tranny cooler + the stock cooler in the radiator and 3.73 gears...i have 33's right now and i cant tell any difference than when the truck was stock w/31's.......if i go to 35's and keep my 3.73 gears for now will it hurt? i dont hardly drive my truck so fuel milage isn't a concern......the concern is damaging my tranny

U'll be fine with the tranny, a lot of the abuse comes from the extra heat from the torque converter when pulling out with the larger tires. well that and the abuse/heat from wheelin...since u dont drive it much i wouldnt worry about it.

if ur really worried add a second cooler and temp guage to watch trans temps. i dont know how well the A4LD would hold up to a shift kit so im not going to recommened one.

I'd start worrying if it went to 250.

I can't remember from school but in two different spots on a transmission on place 250 was highest and the other 300 was the highest you could go before shutting down to let cool.

not really considering that the fluid also runs through the factory oil cooler in the radiator.....the radiator is running at anywere from 190* to over 250* because of the antifreeze........

thanks for the comment on my paint.....buzzair

Why not just order the 4.56's first....not only will they help you out and pretty much prevent any issues.....on the trail your vehicle would not hate life as well

i dont run my truck on the trails. they only time my truck has ever been offroad was to take the picture that is in my avatar.

i would but i need tires and dont have the extra $500 to have someone put them in. i do all the maintence work on my vehicles but gears is something that a person can screw up and i dont want to take that chance since i have never done or seen them done before.

i guess but i wouldnt want it over 180 alot. i could have swore i read some were after 180 transmission fluid breaks down faster causing more tranny wear.

but ive had mine up to 210 and its just ok. but mostly its is around 150 all the time.
