Need a new horn.

My current horn is all high pitch and weak sounding now for some reason. i think it's going dead. Has anyone used any horns off other vehicles? How about any F series fords? What sounds mean? I'm looking to get one at a junk yard.

Also, is it difficult to mount and wire a different horn?

As fun as that would be, I do not want a compressor, and I'm going for cheap.

My 150 horn is so much louder and better sounding than the ranger one IMO

You probably already figured this out but a stock horn is pretty easy to swap out. You can also get a replacement for about $10. There's one wire and one or two bolts.

i did a train horn setup for $40. Junkyard had some horns, hose and valves from ace, and i had a 10 gallon tank laying around. You'd be surprised what you can achieve on the cheap. I wasnt about to spent $400+ on a professional trainhorn rig, thats just ridiculous.
