Icon2 Tailgate emblem from Walmart??

I seen walmart carries a FORD hitch cover. The metal emblem weighs more obviously than a factory 06+ emblem. But i was wondering if I could use this instead of a factory 06+ tailgate emblem.

It seems to be the right size, just weighs more.....Any thoughts?

IIRC its just plastic covered not gel coated. I don't see it lasting as long.

I have wondered the same thing. You have to cut it off and grind it down pretty good. I just don't know if it will stay on the tailgate

No No, the emblem is loose alrady in there, you have to screw it to the hitch thing. I pulled the emblem out and its flat on the back, but heavy....Just a thought anyways

Oh I always thought it was one piece. They are not too expensive, just try it and see what happens

I was thinking of doing that about a week ago when I saw them in TSC, only it was a brushed aluminum one. It was just a little too small for the grille though, I don't think it would have looked right.
