building a rear bumper soon

gonna build a rear bumper with my friend who gets pipe for free. going back and forth between square and round. either way, it will have double piping, that should sit almost flush with the body. putting a reciever on it too so i can get rid of my crappy stock reciever.

anybody have any suggestions?

A bumper doesnt do its job if its flush with the back.

stick with round to match your front. that one on that link is sick. and that rattle can bedliner is the ****! nothing like real bedliner, but its pretty cheap, stupid simple to apply, holds up way better than any other rattle can paint, and you can keep a can in the truck to touch it up whenever you hit a rock or something to keep it from ever starting to rust.

i think i want something like this...

if you're going to be running tube sliders as well, i think a square/angle bumper will look out of place on your truck...

Well, on my f-150 I took 6" well casing welded the ends closed to make it an air tank .welded a step in the middle and receiver hitch under it and used grade 8 bolts to the frame. It weighed quite a bit, but was intimidating. I may do the same for my Ranger. It was solid.
