Picked up a TomTom One (130 i think ill have to look on box in the truck) Saturday! man i love this thing! I think TomTom makes the best GPS... Advance Auto had them for $99!!! The cool part is how i modded the unit! i changed the little arrow that represents you to the backend of my truck!!!

For those with TomToms to do this:

-Take Pic of ur trucks back end
-Upload
-arase background completely and replace with RED (255,000,000) it has to be red or pic wont show up right! the red becomes transparent when on unit!
-Resize to 80 pxl x 80pxl.
-Save as truck.bmp (BITMAP(24-Bit; it has to be 24-bit or wont work!!!)

-Hook up TomTom to computer
-Go to My computer, click on TomTom.
-Locate "art" folder. then find "cars" folder.
-Copy that 24-bit 80 x 80 pic here.
-disconnect and restart TomTom
-go to preferences and change the car icon to ur truck!!

ill get pics up tomorrow of the unit and icon, cameras in truck and im in work!

 

I have had mine for over a year and I must say its saved me more times than I can count. Mine is the TomTom OneXL

 

I got the other half the One 125 for X-mas this past year...Academy had em' for $99 bucks...

We have Karl (from Sling Blade) as the voice on there...we had Hank Hill, but it wasn't a very good one, so we deleted it.

I got my Tom Tom a year ago, and its probably one of the best things I bought for my truck. I've used it so much. do you only use red if your truck is red? that looks pretty hard to do.

I have a Garmin one. Its great for mapping out trails and stuff. Saved my *** from sitting on the hwy for 3 hours last nite too. Alternate routes FTW!

 

no it worked fine, thats y i said you have to use RGB code (255,000,000)

i also did my GFs car as she will use it too!

Also rember to check the maps and see if they are the newest ones. If they are not you should be able to update them for free.

 

The company did go out of business. A new company bought them a lil while ago. While you can't shop in the stores, you can shop online.

 

i did, as soon is a ihooked it up, it cme up with the 90-day map gaurantee and downloaded a new map free...it took an hour to update the whole thing, but now im up to date and everything! cant wait to use it when we go to the beach!
