Got rear ended! (long post)

Welp I was driving on Main street and was turning right into my shop, I slowed down in the far right lane and turned my blinker on. I then got rammed in the back by a car doing 60 (I was doing probably about 30) and man was I pissed! About 2 shops down there was a huge accident and when I first felt the impact I looked in my rear view mirror only to see the guy turning his head from the right (where the crash was) to straight ahead to see me.

I get out of my truck after pulling over right infront of my shop and the guy has the nerve to start *****ing at me. I get real pissed and yell back and a sheriff came over from the orginal accident to talk to us. I got out and looked at his car first. A 96 Fast fast spin the tires Fast and the furious Honda Civic which had its bumper and hood and side corner panel competely torn up. They will for sure have to be replaced. I think looked at my truck (feeling sick to my stomach with images of terrible things in my head) and see a scratch, a small dent, and nothing else. The jackass hit my tow hitch and fugged his car up with no damage to mine. I ended up scraping off the honda paint on my bumper with my finger nail. My bumper is a little tilted upward but nothing major.

After all that he got 2 tickets, one for the accident, and one for having no insurance. I'm fairy sure my truck is fine too. Then after work I got some old 60's Mach One Mustang Rims and put them on my truck. I have 225/70/15 in the fronts and 275/60/15 in the rears (they are actually the same height as the front or so it looks)... I'll have to get some pics of them and post them here when I can borrow my buddys Digi cam. I'm pretty sure no one else here has authentic 60's mustang rims. Although they have been copied by alot of after market companies.

Getting rear ended sucks. When I got rear ended it torn up the whole back of my truck, and I replaced the bumper with 3" x 6" steel 3/16" thick, capped the ends welded it up and called it a day. I welded it to my tow hitch and also have bolts going to the frame. Was cheaper than buying a new chrome bumper too.

You can always say that your neck hurts and try to get something. But without insurance it would be a hard fight.

My 98 got new rear bumpers about once a year from being rearended. With the mounts, chrome bumper(flareside), and the plastic pad they were paying about 567 bills. The one kid took too long so I call his ins co and got a check from them. I was real pissed on that one cuz I had just removed the giant hitch ball from my reciever the day I got hit.
