Went elk hunting a few days ago. Got this big guy. Who else has been this year? Any pics? Workin on gettin a deer this week. Have had a chance at a few small ones but not worth killing one for a small amount of meat.

 

nice my g.fs dad just got back from a 10 day elk hunt in Montana but he didnt get anything he saw tons but did get any he was hunting with a bow. what did you shot that with?

 

a 30-06. It's hard enough to see an elk over here so I don't think there is a way I could get 1 with a bow.

 

yeah he shot at 3 and hit one right in the shoulder he said it sounded like he shot into a tree lol

 

lol.. I had to shoot this one where the blood spot is in the pic which shredded the rear half of the heart, hit the liver and went through both lungs and he was still runnin so I shot him again in the back leg and he fell down then I shot him in the head. He was gonna die no prob from the first shot since that's bout as good of a shot u can get but they sure dont go down right away sometimes. They jus don't know they're dead yet.

 

yeah its just like shooting a deer only alot bigger

congrats! its weird how wide it is already. Most of them around here stay pretty narrow untill they get older.
