ford ranger "road racing"

hey,
i have an 01 ranger 3.0, and one of my friends has an 02 f150 with the smaller v8 (4. something maybe?) we dont actually "race" but when we are going places, most of the time he follows me and another kid with some old beat up ranger. i am the fastest along with the other ranger, we both keep up fine. we go about 75 in the 25, but the f150 cant keep up. well get place 5-10 minutes faster, and he says he just cant go that fast and his truck starts to slide. are rangers supposed to be good like that, or does anyone else have any type of similiar experience?
thanks

yea dont get caught. my mom got a ticket for doing 85 in a 40 2 years ago and it was like close to 350 altogether. i think it might have been considered reckless driving.

My question is why would you go 50 over anyway esp with people following you they will get you for racing, reckless driving, speeding and who knows what else. That is just stupid!

Be careful not to hit a kid or something even worse

Welcome to R/F lol. It really isn't worth it man, it might seem fun during it but the day you blow a tire and flip the truck and take out a house and kill a family its not anymore.

well, we know its dumb, and we dont do it often. the ticket is mostly out of the question. its on freshly paved back roads. mostly straightaways with some slight hills. and we dont do it when theres any chance of other people.

You dont need to try and impress the people on this site man and when you fail at impressing people on here you dont need to try and back track to cover your own tail

Wow, a guy askes a question about the performance and handling experiences of other ranger owners, and everybody ignores the question and imediatly starts b****ing. While his actions are admitedly stupid, dangerous and not to be condoned, they are most likely heavily over exagerated as well. Not to mention, let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Who here never speeds, and never ever raced his buddys when they were young, or now even? I speed, and I enjoy the handling of my truck. If I get caught, I pay the price, and I endevor not to endanger others by playing in traffic. So, how about answering his questions, then adding a word of advise from a mature standpoint. Blasting does nothing except make you look like a total doushbag.

Now, having said that,
Yeah, my truck is quick enough to surprise alot of people, and handles QUITE well for a truck. The F150 on the other hand, is a complete pig in the corners, and with the small Triton (4.6) truck motor, not exactly quick. nice comfortable ride though. Undoubtably the Ranger has the edge, seeing as it weighs almost half as much. You really should be careful out there though, you've been lucky so far, and so have I, but I've grown out of alot of it, and looking back, sometimes wonder how I survived. try slowing it down abit, and take your truck to a track to play. Heck, why not find an empty parking lot, get some cones, and make your own track for you and your friends?

Oh yeah guys, well I can go 25 miles per hour on the street with my pedal bike!! WAAA!

And yeah, the best time to get out and hit the gas for a nice fast run is out on the track day's at a local track... its very cheap, you get tickets showing your times.. and it shell afun to have true bragging rights with your friends.. all you gotta do is wave that ticket around

Closed due to blatant stupidity. RF is not going to help or provide a means of assistance to further such irresponsible and dangerous actions. If you are this incompetent behind the wheel, you will most likely not learn until you lose some blood in the process. Hopefully when you do, you won't take anyone else with you. Note I said when, not if.

For those that pointed out how incredibly wrong these actions are, thank you.
