Excuse my ignorance. Who makes "silverstar" and where can you buy them?

I have these in my 2001 for over two year now. They light up the road just fine.

For anybody thinking of buying those lights off ebay, DON'T. I have them right now and they are sh!tty. Tomorrow I'll be going to autozone to get the Silverstars. Yes they give off a bluish light but the visibility when using the high beams is terrible. I also am running 9005's as fog lights and they make a huge difference over the stock 9145's.

For MemphisSenior: They're made by Sylvania.

I heard that the Silverstars aren't real good in inclement weather, i.e. rain. supposedly they give off a bad glare.

is this true? cuz i'd like to upgrade mine, but living in the Great Northwest we get more than our fair share of liquid sunshine!

I've had Silverstars in my Headlights for almost 3 years now and I've had Silverstar foglights for about a year now and I wouldn't have anything else. I had the bluish APC bulbs for about 4 months and they looked cool but they only pissed off oncoming traffic and they were strictly tunnel vision. With good headlights I can see where my fenders are but those white lights straight up sucked for driving down driveways when I delivered pizza. And the thing about Silverstars giving off a glare is B.S. as well. Hell I drove through Hurricane Frances with no problem.

When I went from some poopie ebay lights to HID's, it was a night & day difference. Those blue bulbs sucked majorly.

i have had many diff kinds of bulbs and i have had those PIAA's up there. they were a very good upgrade from stock but cost 90-100 bucks normally around me. i now have HID and ill be damned if it isnt 198767868 times brighter than the PIAA's. i wont run anything other than HID on any vehicle i own from here on out. they were only 134 for my headlights, and then i did a group buy over on rps and i got my fogs for 113 shipped!!!! i cant see spending 90 bucks for those PIAA's anymore when i can spend a little more and get HID which is honestly at least 3 times brighter. i dont even need to EVER use my hi beams, which with the kit i have also comes with hi's. also, over 2+ years of having those PIAA's they slightly started to melt my wiring harness and towards the end of me having them in there i would occasionally only get the drivers light to turn on, so i would have to turn them off/on again and they would both come on. just something to think about when you put a bulb that is twice the wattage in there.

I have had the silverstars since buying the truck a few years ago (01 Edge Super 2X4). One set, I usually drive with lights on all the time (yes even daytime) for visibility. I haven't had to replace one yet (crosses fingers). On my fog lights, I use regular high beam clear bulbs (but have to wiggle/jiggle to get em in). No leakage in either fog light housing, which is good! Have not dremmel-ed anything because I want the seal intact to keep moisture out.

no but they do have a yellow tint to them. i can tell u one thing there not white by any means. i saw bearly any diffrence in them compared to stock accept they blew out faster then i could put them in. the $ i wasted on silverstars i could have bought a HID kin in the first place.

if u want a blue tint just get HID's u can get them for 99$+shipping and they are also good in bad conditions unlike the blue tinted bulbs. get 6000K for white, 8000K for iceburg blue(what i got), 10000K for brilliant blue, and 12000k for purple and whats what ^^ Dangerranger99 has.

up to u to pic what u really want
