Headlight Swap

Will headlights from a 01+ ranger/edge fit on a 98-00 ranger with the 98-00 corner lenses? im thinking about trying it if its possible....think it might look cool....if anyone has tried it or knows it will/wont work lemme know

i was thinking if i did i could add a 3rd blinker light to the already existing 2 but who knows if its even possible

unless you plan on doing alot of fab work to get them to fit, i dont see it really working all too well.. often people will instead replace their header panel, light assembles, grilles, bumper, everything that is there in the area, in order to get the 01+ headlights to fit

edit: there's probably more stuff to that needs to be replaced.. fenders maybe?? hood too?? i may be wrong though on some things that need replacing..

yeah.. takes alot.. if you search around with keywords like "01 frontend swap" or somethin like that, you'll find some pics and whatnot of peoples trucks who have it done.. looks nice.. if you cant find any on this site while searching, try a few other forums.. they're everywhere once you find them

i've never heard of any success.. there might have been attempts maybe.. but none i know of.. other people here on the board might know of some maybe.. doubt it though.. the entire front end swap seems like its the much easier and preferred way to go.

I've thought about what a Gen4 would look like without the bottom marker light and a Gen5 corner light and also vice versa because they don't make any aftermarket lights for Gen5 yet and doubt they will.

i did the front end swap on my 99 it cost me a little bit of money well worth it though, it was really easy to do there is a how to on RPS. i stuck about a grand in all of it, including the edge hood, clear corners, grille, emblem, paint, header panel, bumper and fogs. labor was a freebie. i got the headlights for 100 , corners for 40, grille 40 hood 175 bumper valance fogs brackets 400 minor clips and stuff 100 paint 200 it looks awesome! i sold most of the stuff i had on it on forums and ebay but overall i think it cost me a total after i sold everything i little less than 800! and if ya want you can use a 4x2 grille and still use the stock 99 hood, but i got a deal on mine! i slowly compiled it all, i posted want ads everywhere it tool me less than a month to get it all together, i would just do the whole thing instead of hacking up the header panel on the 99 cuz its way different. its your choice, but i know you wont be sorry if your swap it!

No too bad really. In this months mini trucking the took a new colorado front end and but it on a 91 S-dime. I do have to say as a ford man that Chevy looked nice. But mod was crazy hard. They had to build a support, cut everything, weld everything, fit, check 200 times, etc. So putting in headlights is cake compaired to a total swap on a older truck. (Key word older. Such as a new 05 Ranger front clip going on a 92 Ranger)
