Heard of this happening?
So this morning I go to leave for work, of course the brakes were frozen and I had to give it some gas to break it free( broke free harder than usuall ). Well after I dropped off the wife I notice that when I switch from reverse to Drive and vise versa(auto tranny), it seems to make an extreamly loud popping noise from the rear. Well it continued to do this when I would switch gears and let off of the brake a even a hair, even after it was warmed up. It wouldnt do it when I would just stop and then go again, only after I switched gears and let off of the brake. Anyway it quit when it got warmer outside a few hours later. I dont know what could make it do that, even if something was frozen? Any ideas? (8.8 LS rear)
my first ranger did that.[2000 V6 3.0L 4WD] And I figuared out that one of the mounts on the trans. was loose and everytime I shifted from Reverse to Drive, the trans would shake. I got the parts and fixed it. It never happened again.
I had mine to the dealer for the same problem. Mine does it when I go from park to drive in 4x. It gets really bad on the cold mornings in 2x or 4x. The dealer told me some b/s then checked it out and said nothing was wrong. It hasn't happened in about a month so...I dunno.
Im not sure what it could be because it didnt happen at all today, even this morning and it was colder than last time. I didnt even half to break the ice from the breaks when reversing. Im wondering if it isnt because I drove through some monstrous snow melt puddles the other day. Hmmm.
