ranger stolen, so i got a new toy!

so a few months ago i had the ranger stolen. sucks but its my fault, left the windows open over night and had way to many electronics in it. anyway, so i took the money i got (which wasnt much after i paid the loan off) and bought a new to me truck. 90 ford F 250, 4 wheel drive 5-speed with 4 inch lift and 37 inch tires. its pretty bad ***. i forgot how much i loved lifted trucks. paid $900 for it. put about $500 in repairs so far but thats just cuz i wanted too. all brand new brake components front and rear, new warn hubs, stainless braided lines (for all, no actual hard lines). runs well too. anyone know where to get parts for these tanks?

5.8 351 W motor. I build hot rod and race car motors for a living. Already in the process of making a stroked 427 engine for spring time. tax return season will be wonderful this year!

That is awesome dude. Those 351 Windsors are a good motor. I had one in my 82 F-250 highboy. I think it had a rv cam, edelbrock intake, and carter carb. They are a powerfull motor. Good luck with the truck man. Keep us or at least me updated on it.

nice trade. i can't decide if it's a downgrade or an upgrade. don't get rid of the 351. unless it's tired. if it was mine, i'd just get a tonneau or a cap and call it a day.

Cool stuff, I am a diesel fan but strokers are fun too, keep us updated on the progress.

Thanks for the responses guys. After having the truck for 3 months i finally got to making some modifications to it other than general maintenance. got a push bar from the pick n pull, painted it black and put that on. cleaned out the interior which really needed it. pulled out all the interior pieces pretty much, cleaned em, primed em, and painted em black. got a really cool black fabric to redo the headliner and visors over this coming week. installed the cab running lights and going to put the CB antenna in as well. still need to figure out where to mount the CB as the truck is 5 speed and 4 wheel drive. add the tow package trailer brakes and such i dont have much room. also installed new rancho shocks front and rear. doesnt bounce as much now. new tie rods and ball joints soon to come. i need to stop the bleeding of oil from the pan before i take her off road. that my friends is not an easy task. the engine needs lifted 4-5 inches in order to remove the old pan. i have a moroso pan that is going on it. the truck is my daily driver so i need to find a weekend to get that done. other than that ive fixed just about everything else on the truck so far that was broken or not working right. Registration will be taking care of when i fly back home to ohio in a week. theres no way im keeping CA plates on that.

the motor im building is similar to the 427 motors we build at work. http://smedingperformance.com/427windsor.htm . slightly different heads will be used for lower end torque but should put out 430 HP and 525 ft lb of torque. dart block, forged internals, custom COMP CAM, custom heads, edelbrock intake and MSD ignition. MUCH more torque at low rpms than a 398.

my interior got furry. and a new facelift....i dont really care for the dirty **** brown color. black is much better. and no, the whole inside is not all furry. the headliner and door panels are the only stuff that got new fabric. new carpet and a in a few weeks a rebuilt seat will make it complete. my mom actually got me something useful, a wood shift **** and tcase shifter.
