I drive a 2009 Ranger Sport with the 4.0 SOHC. I want to change the heater hose that connects to the water pump but can't see any way to get to the clamp at the water pump end without pulling the thermostat housing and the alternator Belt tensioner bracket. I did a search for this but was unable to find any threads. trying to be proactive with my maintenance to make this truck last me the rest of my driving life. 170k on the odometer. Interested in any helpful tips you might have.

 

Maybe I can remove the Serpentine belt and remove the idler pulley to gain enough room to get that clamp off. wahddya think?
