Break trouble! Really scary.

I'm really nervous because I was driving earlier and had to slam on the breaks. When I did, my breaks sounded like they were grinding really hard. I had a problem with my calipers a few months ago. Idk if they are related but does this sound firmiliar to anyone??

First easy things I'd check:
-Dust Shield rubbing rotor
-Debris stuck between dust shield and rotor
-Make sure caliper bolts haven't fallen out or are loose

Hmm. I don't have any breaks on my car. I would look into buying brakes instead of breaks.
