It may also not be listed anymore as its older than 10 years now, and Ford tends to drop parts out of their inventory after 10 years, I know I have a hard time buying stuff now for my 94 Ranger from the dealer, I used to have to get the stuff newer rangers. Luckily, since 80% of the Ranger is still the same, parts were relatively easy to buy, we just had to search for the newer years.

Basically they don't show a 4 cylinder trans or parts in 4x4. Try for instance to look up a 2.3L 4x4 trans mount for 1996. I have run into that on a few vehicles over the years.
I also have a 1996 Ranger brochure that confirms that you could get a 2.3L 4WD (but only with a manual trans and regular cab).
