throttle cable "mod" (need pictures)
ok so, i have tried searching and i cant seem to find a nice clear picture on how to do this ''mod'' correctly. i dont need any cables snapping on me, considering my truck is 13 years old and it is cold outside. anyways i also realized that my pedal is kind of loose, when i give it full throttle i have to put A LOT of weight on the pedal. Llike i have to practically push back in my seat to gain leverage lol. so i think thats a sign that it needs to be brought up some and that the carpet isnt helping it out any. So if anyone that had/having the same problem please help me out. i got a package of zip ties and i got a pretty good light (my 4x4 light above the 4x4 shifter on the floor) so i can see underneath it but i dont want to put the zip tie on too tight where the cable is going to snap. so if anyone can give good detail on how to do this with some clear pictures that would be great.

However, there is ALSO no reason to replace it if it hasn't broken yet. Just pull the slack out and put on some Zip Ties to hold the slack out. You don't want excess "tension", just enough to hold the cable out some.

If you stomp it on flat, level ground it should shift out of 4th gear (overdrive) and accelerate in 3rd gear. If it's not shifting, your transmission kick-down cable may be stretched and need adjustment or replacement???
You should first check to make sure the "full throttle" position of the pedal is truly "full throttle" by looking into the throttle body and checking the butterfly valve to make sure it's all the way open.

ok, the truck shifts fine and all so i know there isnt anything wrong with the tranny, before i could never get the tac down to 5g before lol i was kinda glad but its like at 55 for instance ill give it full throttle and it will move a little tiny bit. i really dont know much about trucks so i couldnt check anything you have stated above but i mean the truck runs nicely and i can get up to speeds VERY quickly now.

It's quite the twister game to get up under there, unless you are a midget.
The zip-tie throttle cable slack mod is a good one.

i gurantee your truck has slack in it, i had to use 2 zip ties. i mean i can get up to speed very quickly now. im happy with it. rolldogg lol tell me about it you have to move the seat all the way back just to get enough room. but its worth it. Oh and thanks shadow for the picture. really helped.
edit: it also took about 3/4''-1 inch of slack out from the pedal.
