best looking combo is get a 2002-2005 ish fx4 level II shifter arm and **** it looks the best and feels the best. anything else is just cheap crap

another really nice option is the hurst shifter... i have seen one and its my favorite both for the look and the feel

I also have the hurst and like it the best of whats available. The fx4 shifter looks better than the stock one, but does nothing to improve the sloppy shifting. If the posistion on the hurst isn't what you are looking for, hurst has several different arms available. Most people change the shifter to improve the very poor shift quality of the stock shifters, if thats what you are looking for, the hurst is the only one to help.

well, the bottom line is if you are happy with the sloppy shifting of the factory shifters, than they are right for you. Many people have experianced the more positive shifting of the hurst shifters and have become accustomed to the much better shifting that is experianced using them. The shorter throw is just an added plus, getting rid of the sloppyness that all factory shifters have is the objective.
