Home sweet home...

Haven't had a chance to post a "real" post yet, but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone. 2nd Brigade 10th MTD has returned everyone home as of last weekend. I would like to say thanks for all the support, we all appreciated it.

We start leave next week, so hopefully I can start to relax a little, but we're in the middle of a change of command/reprocessing back so it's been hectic. Also had to go to Ohio for my roomate's wedding.

Can't make the trip this weekend, but I will be in the PA area starting middle of next week if anyone wants to do a little offroading.....not with a ranger for me anymore though.

Welcome back and thanks, Carl. My brother is getting ready to come home from his op. reassign to the 18th airborne corp early next month, only to find out that in Sept. he'll be re-deployed to his reg. bt. with the 101st in southern Iraq. Hes currently at Camp Victory. We're all kind of heartbroken that hes only going to be home for about 6 weeks before heading back for his 3rd tour in Iraq.

10th mountain.. the most deployable division in the whole U.S. Army. Anyone should be proud of just being a member. Oddly, I think the 101st gets more name recognition than the 10th Mt. among non-mil folks. Funny thing is the 101st isn't even a real airborne unit anymore, and they're only a few steps away from being converted to a regular infantry unit. My brother is in the Air Defense Artilliary right now (2-44ADA,) hardly airborne at all. More taking down airborne targets.

thanks guys.

10th is the most deployed since the Gulf War. Yes, for the first time since 9/11 the entire 10th MTD is home, but not for long. we are the only Brigade not "officially" scheduled to deploy. It's gonna be a ghost town soon though, once all the other 3 BDEs are gone.

I think it's the 101 history that gets most people. They have done way more than the 10th if you go all the way back. I've heard they are going to some Air Assualt Brigades, which is much more practical in today's modern wars. there probably won't be many more Airborne assualts on a large scale.

I got the Amsoil, thanks! It should keep me busy for a few days next week when leave starts. I have A LOT of things to do to the rubicon and even the Ranger.

I should have the rubicon done by next tuesday or so, should be heading to PA from Wed to Sat or so. I'll be in the Philly, Lancaster, allentown area. I'd like to get some trucks together to do Paragon or Rausch creek if anyone is interested..

Good to see you back, Carl! Thanks for serving beside us, man. I have something for you that I picked up a while back over here in a po-dunk Military surplus store. I emailed Demetra, but I guess she never got it. I wanted to send it to you.

Anyhow, chill, relax and rest up -- you deserve it.
