just curious if any of you have done it, pics would help. interested in how high you went up and what brands you used, 3m rock gard is only in tan so you have to paint it but sem chip guard comes in black, and my trucks black so i figure i wont have to paint it to match, ive heard for people using bedliner but it looks way to tacky for me to use on the body.

my truck has its share of scratches esp on the bed from loading / unloading. so i dont have any protection on it. But i do use clearbra on the car i commute to work with. On that car i also covered "high risk areas" with XPEL film. Rocker panels, gas tank lid (they love to slap the door shut with their ring finger), and a small 'bib' under the filler in case the service guy hits it with the nozzle ect. (cant pump your own gas in NJ)
you can buy the stuff by the roll or by the foot, and its not that expensive. it wont require painting, is strong, and if it gets too banged up, you can peel it off and reinstall a new sheet. I have not had to replace any of the XPEL sheets ive installed. the stuff is VERY close to invisible.
if i was going to protect the rockers on my ranger this the stuff i would use...

Like Vista, I just put rustoleum bedliner (spray) on my rockers. Did it on a yz ranger, it looks good. I've had it for a month so far and its holding up great with these gravel roads in VT. I usually wouldn't spray paint a truck, but there was no paint left there anyway. Its a lot better than rust in any case.
