Icon2 Hood latch question

My buddy has a 99 Explorer sport. Well his keys are always locked inside, becasue he has a keypad entry.. Well his battery is dead so he cant open the doors, no extra key...

is there a way to pop open the hood without relasing the latch?

Take a pair of pliers and reach up in there and pull the cable on the latch! That is if you can squeeze your arm in there!
