How can I tell what gears are in my truck!!!

I just purchased the truck last night and I'm not sure what gearing it has or if it's LS. It's a 2011 5spd XLT 4.0 supercab.

Look on the axle and post the axle code or on the door sticker.

Should say on the window sticker if its brand new. Look at the sticker in the door jam of the driver's door. Look for the axle number or number/letter combination. Should be like 86 or R6 or something like that.

The axle number is 95 and it doesn't say anything on the window sticker about the gear ratio or whether it's a LS or not.

So 95 is a 8.8" rear end with 3.55 gears. Open diff so no L/S.

I guess they stop putting them on the window stickers. My 1999's window sticker has it on it.

Edit: Adam, stop answering before me lol

I know this sounds lame but what's the difference between an LS and an open 8.8

Open diff means the vehicle is gonna send the power to the wheel with the least amount of resistance.
Limited Slip helps with this by transfering some of that power to the wheel that isnt slipping. If you have one wheel though on ice and the other not, Limited Slip won't help.
