FordRangerForum.com - Did it go down for good?

I know I should not be asking about the competition, though I wondered if the other Ranger Forum went down for good. Seems like they were hit with a massive amount of spam a few weeks ago. Anyone know what happened?

I bailed on 'em months ago when I thought they were getting inundated with spam. I guess it's worse now?

Yeah last time I went it looked like every single thread was hit. Went back today and looks like the site database was taken down.

That's what happens when the administration and moderation team completely abandon a web forum and the forum itself is a lone-wolf to start. RF is part of Internet Brands, so it is less likely to happen here but always possible.

I hadn't checked in over there in like a year. Not sure what happened, guess the owners lost interest. I know a couple folks who wanted to buy the URL but could never get any reply.

From what I understand, the site owner "Tom" had health issues, then just kind of disappeared. Not sure if he passed or not, as I do not have a close relationship with anyone over there.

He was the sole super admin, so no changes can be made without him .

I wasn't aware of his health issues as I left there around 2015 or so which more than likely predated his issues.

I remember moderators attempting to reach out to him to no avail years ago, so he definitely did disappear.
