Not sure, But I think you have to cut it out. At least thats what I always see the glass replacement guys doing.

remove the surrounding....

Shove something through and use a wire... guitar wire or something. have someone on the inside pull back and forth and make your way around...

Im sure you can buy a removal tool somewhere but this is the cheaper way..

You can buy a removal tool at about any parts store for $10...but honestly, a guitar string works better.

I would reccommend before you smash the windshield that you cover the defroster vents with duct tape .I've had a couple replaced and come winter when I turned on the defroster I got a face full of tiny glass shards.

Depends on what accesories are included around that windshield. If it's a gasket, like older trucks, take a razer blade to the gasket, and push the window out. On your windshields, the black thing around the windshield is referred to as a molding. The molding is adhesive'd to the windshield, then the windshield is adhesive'd to the cab, along with the molding. Imagine a 20" boxcutter. That's what you need for proper removal. You are cutting through the glue and a little bit of the windshield, from the inside of the truck. Or, push a hole through the glue and route fishing wire through and go around the shield.

gotta ask.....why?

I had one of those cutting tools you had to pull to cut and what a waste of time they are. I got one of the new saws made just for cutting out auto glass and it works like a charm. I can remove the entire windshiled in just a few minutes, clean the areas for the new, run the bead and drop in the new one. I think the next time I break a windshiled, Im going to get one of those newer ones that have Ranger at the top, those look great.
