how to fit 33s
hey, i have 2001 ford ranger 4x4 with a limited slip 4:10 differential. i was wondering how could i get (285/75/r16) 33s without rubbing...i currently have 265/75/r16 on, and i crancked up the torsion bars, but im looking foward on putting some 33s on it...but im not sure they will rub or not

their rub your bumber and tops of fender lips when flexing. time to get a body lift and they will clear just fine

First of all, Welcome to RF.
Second, you posted this in the wrong section lol Third, you will indeed rub when you turn. I wouldn't suggest running the tires unless you max out your torsion bars (the ride will suck btw) |
If the T-bars are Maxed then you will barely even rub the sway bar at full clock(meaning youll be fine). Mine are maxed with 285/75/16s and the ride isnt really even that bad.

I am running 33's with slight crank, you will rub slightly on your valance, but its easy trimable. all you need to do is take about a half inch out and follow the cuurve of the fender. also depending on your wheel off set and width, you will rub other places. i have the recomended offset and an 8 wide wheel. the 4.10's will keep you peppy and bring your rpm's down a little on the highway.

By the 3" torsion bar lift are you talking about keys? If you are and you have 1 bars its bad news from what i've heard from a ford tech, its recommended to get a less aggressive torsion bar rating if you're going to go with keys. for the rear I would get an add-a-leaf kit over a shackle lift or just get explorer leaf springs and pull the rear block to have less axle wrap. Shackle lifts are simple and the same cost as an add-a-leaf but it will push your axle forward and it will be off-centered inside the wheel well making it look dumb thats why i just pulled my lift shackles out and sold them lol
That happened to my tire due to lift shackles at the dunes meet. If my tire wasn't pushed forward due to the shackles that wouldn't of happened...im body lifted too http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._6520055_n.jpg |
damn pedreo! thats sucks man!

my tires look like that too from hitting the bedsides before the bodylift. i have shackles and i was barely flexed and i hit
|
I have 285's and I just flexed about an hour ago and I had no rubbing whatsoever. You'll be fine.
|
Will the 285s fit on the stock 16 inch rim? quick hijack
