How much is this truck worth to you and would you buy it?

I am posting this up for Firefighterjosh, not me. He is wanting something to take out and basically beat the crap out of and jump it. So dunes, trails, etc...

It was built by a local off-road shop about 10-12 years ago for tough truck competitions.

I want to know your opinion on it.
I also want to know what you think is stock and what is not on it.

(I already have my own opinion about it but I want to see what everyone else has to say):icon16:

I think it needs some king coilovers in the front and the back and then it would mobb.

Acutally, the whole thing needs to be re-done.
I wouldn't pay more then 1k for it.

Johnbaum13 06-11-2008 09:00 AM

I think the steering wheel is stock.......

Redneckstone 06-11-2008 09:18 AM

looks good to me as a trail truck i wouldnt pay over $2000 for it..

Seahawk 06-11-2008 09:20 AM

Is anything stock?lol i think it would be pretty good for what he wants it for.

needs bigger tires?

mhughes165 06-11-2008 09:41 AM

im sorry....but that thing just scares me, idk if some people have experience with the TTB front end on here, but everything on that truck was done incorrectly on the front end, the steering angles are crookeder then a politician,

im not at all impressed with the truck, i agree with the 2k tops......

and beleive it or not, most parts on that truck are stock, it isnt lifted but maybe 2", stock drop brackets, stock rears, stock steering.......

I think a bunch of the suspension is stock as well.

What about the beams? Are they different from stock? I know nothing about TTB

SuperGildo@RRP 06-11-2008 10:56 AM

it looks realy stock with some tube work to accentuate. I probably wouldnt buy it unless it was cheap enough to make my money back in steel, but I dont live near sand dunes.

I just want to point out how much slack is left on the limiting strap even when its standing at ride height

thats about all thats worth anything on the truck. its the stock d35. whats the asking price for the truck??

also, i stand corrected....with the cut beams its prolly lifted about 3"

CBFranger 06-11-2008 11:20 AM

A few grand, maybe. It's been used and beat to death. I'm not sure what I'd offer.

The beams don't look stock to me. My Supervisor has a 87 and it looks exactly the same. I wouldn't even THINK of buying that. You can find so many better deals!

yea it looks like stock drop brackets so the only lift is in the bend of the beams.

your pointing it out why? No droop?

My91Ranger 06-11-2008 11:29 AM

For 5000 I would buy another gen II and get the full Camburg or Autofab kit for it and build my own. That way you know the work done was done right, it wasn't abused, and it would still end up cheaper.

94greenmachine 06-11-2008 11:31 AM

I would never, NEVER pay 5 G's for that! Not worth the time and trouble spent repairing stuff. Too much rust in the undercarriage, and except for the Tube work, there really isn't enough here to warrant paying more than 2G's and that is even pushing it in my book!

I got my 95 Supercab 4.0L lifted on 4" Sus. / 3" B.L., with 35" Pitbulls for $4200. That truck is extremely over priced!!!!

el puma 06-11-2008 11:32 AM

i dont even like off roading but i love that truck. yellow is a bad ass color $4000+

the guy is on crack, i wouldnt pay a dime over 2k for it, unless it has some custom 1 off shafts, geared and locked front and rear, newer motor and trans, and have the frame gold plated

mhughes165 06-11-2008 11:58 AM

Gearhead61 06-11-2008 12:09 PM

Not in a thousand years would I pay 5k for that. There's just not much more to be said.

zabeard 06-11-2008 12:39 PM

I agree with you guys. We are going to look at it in person Saturday but I cant see it looking any different.

SuperGildo@RRP 06-11-2008 12:47 PM

I wouldnt waste my time looking at it...
