I think my rule of thumb about used "built" vehicles is the vehicles blue book plus most expensive mod. doubt this would hit 5k...

Seeing him jump that truck in the picture above definately tells me not to buy it.

That thing is probably all jacked up suspension wise.

I am just going as a friend to look at it with him. I think he would be better putting the couple grand in his truck.

5 grand into his truck would make a pretty badass truck. and you can help him build it...

no way thats worth 5k, and if he did get it, he would have some work to do on it.

I personally wouldn't buy it and throw it at the dunes without another grand or so put into it

theres probably too many mods that are done to it (not that thats a bad thing) but when it comes time to replace parts on it, your going to be spending a lot more money because of all the high end mods on it. i wouldnt get it.

thanks for all the input. I knew it was beat to crap before. But its a extremly strong truck. It has NEVER broke. I think between the 3 people who have owned it (all friends and I know them kinda) It has never had one major problem.

I agree, after seeing the pictures I am kinda depressed that it isn't as nice as what I first thought it would be. I 2 do not think its worth 5 grand.

If I dont buy it he is going to restore it. He is going to make it 2wd and give it huge suspension.

He also has a 2wd project truck with beams and I think rear end parts as well I am looking at. Only thing it has a 4 cyclinder and needs alot of work. We will see.

I didnt pay that much for my '99! If that is what he wants I would buy a stock ranger and build it the way he wants it.

x2

I only put a grand down on my ranger brand new stock and did everything myself to it.

That way I know where it has been and what's been replaced and what its history is like.

I got my 95 Supercab 4.0L lifted on 4" Sus. / 3" B.L., with 35" Pitbulls for $4200. That truck is extremely over priced!!!!
for the stuff wrong with it yes you got screwed and you might want to start watching how you talk to ppl

Don't waste your time going to look at it.

Here is what I see wrong with it:
- Beams look like they were heated and bent, not cut and turned
- 4 shocks on the rear is excessive
- major oil leak somewhere
- beat to death

For $5,000 Josh you could SAS your truck and then some. For the price of that you could probably build your truck to be like Beard's.

Walk away. That TTB is scary the way it is. DOn't get me wrong, I'm one of the few individuals who loves TTB, and thats just plain scary right there. That TTB isn't cut and turned.

The truck's already been jumped, so I wouldn't want it, even if it's been re-enforced. Find a 500 beater truck to jump and walk away from that death trap.

That TTB is Scary. 2wd is the only time I would think of owning a lifted TTB.

15 year old tube aint worth dick to me, the suspension aint worth nothing the beams arent worth anything, if it was all more recent work, and the stuff was done right, then id say ya its worth 5k, but sayin its worth that cause the dude went buckwild with tubing is just wrong

and as far as alot of hours into the truck

u can put alot of hours into polishing a turd, in the end its still a turd.....

I too know the TTB very well.

Those axle beams are NOT cut and turned. They are heated and bent which weakens them greatly.

The truck is worth maybe $1500.

I only have $2500 in my BII, for another $2500, I could make it into one bad **** machine.

he cut out the center and the bent it, u can see the welds in the center, thats why i said cut and bent......its a old skool half assed way to lift the trucks

you really dont have a clue.

the rear axle and suspension alone is worth more then your truck is worth!
