glasspack help please

i got a 4.0 v6 ranger and i used to have straight pipes. just today i bought a glasspack and put it on. I heard it would make a deeper sound but it just made it quieter. Does the sound get better with time? or should i just take it off.

Thanks, Hunter

I have a 2009 4.0l 4x4, currently with a stock exhaust can I just remove cat back for a better sound, if so do you have to cut the pipe or does it just have a clamp on it. If I have to cut it could I just re-attach it with clamps again so it will pass an e-test.

honestly you should just take it off and bring it back to the store or sell it. glasspacks dont last long before they blow out and become a big echoing chamber. just spend another $40-60 and buy a nice stainless magnaflow or flowmaster muffler and be done with it. they will sound a lot better and actually last

Jesse Thomas , on my 02 there is a flange with 2 bolts under the cab that hold the cat back on , undo those and take off the 2 rubber pieces one in the front and rear and then pull the exhaust out , u may have to drop spare tire for some extra room , and this may cause a few 4 letter words while getting it out , but yeah it sounds good and loud
