How to replace dash lights (very detailed)

Hey guys,

So I just made this video which should be very helpful to many of us! Replacing the dash lights is not that bad of a job and it is just a little time consuming with all of the screws.

Let me know what you think!

I like the mazda cluster. I like that it has red needles. I'm half tempted to find one on ebay so i can remove my orange needles that I have on my gray cluster.

How to Replace Dashboard Lights (In Depth) - YouTube

Hi Chris - excellent job on the dash lights. I'm about to do the same on my 2001 Ranger.
I have two other issues that would like to ask related to the removal of the dashboard:
1) you said on this video that you will have another video on the gearshift not lining up with the letters (P, R, D, 2, 1). I searched here but can't find such.
My issue isn't as much the lining up as the gearshift lever not shifting all the way to gear 1. I thought in your video you may have some info related to my issue.
2) My DIM switch turns (works) but when turning the wheel to its max position I can barely see the gages (lights are still too dim). Any suggestion what to do since I am replacing some of the 194 bulbs?
Thanks in advance!

Good video. This is what I did on my '95. But since mine is a manual and has tilt wheel, there were some minor differences. Such as with tilt you may need to remove the tilt lever to clear the trim. I also found it beneficial to remove the steering column trim for clearance of the cluster.

1.
2. I just replaced my dash lights and noticed that 4 bulbs were burned and didn't work and all other were almost black/silver and worked. I suspect your bulbs are just old. I changed all bulbs as it's already open.
Good luck! :gluck[1]:
