Plasti dipped the wheels today.....
So I was bored with my old 89 ford " outlaw" style wheels on my 07 Ranger, so I decided to try plasti dip. Stuff works pretty good...... and if you change your mind, peel it off and your good to go! $12 for new wheels!
Now for bigger tires.... and a lift...and some tint...and a pony.........

Thanks, I'm pretty happy with it. 3 coats, took a while to dry in between because of the weather. Looked solid after two coats, but I threw on another just for good measure. No adhesion promoter. I originally got the rims from a buddy who left them out in the mud and sun for years. The clear coat was cracked so I stripped it down to bare aluminum. I just cleaned the wheels with alcohol before painting and it set up great. Cool thing about the plasti-dip is if you screw up or change your mind, you can peel it off and no harm no foul.

No worries on the balance. It might be an issue if you globbed it on unevenly, but you would have to paint it blindfolded to do that...... one thing I will say is that when you spray it on, it looks like its going to be kind of bumpy, but it spreads itself out and settles smooth. So don't panic if it looks weird when you spray it on. I am totally stoked with the results....
