Yea thats old news i think thats a huge mistake on fords part. The ranger is probably the most reliable thing they make

Ford tossing around the idea of dropping it and Ford actually dropping it are two different things. The competition is tough, but Rangers still sell, and in suprising numbers. Mechanical updates have been minimal since '98 and the body is almost the same as it was in '93 (with the exception of four doors available on Super Cabs and a 3" extension to regular cabs) and it still competes...that is impressive. While the Ranger is definately in a vulnerable spot, it outsells many other Fords and is certainly much more profitable than they are. I think a redesign would be more likely. I just don't see Ford abandoning the small truck market when it has been so profitable for them. If that happens, I do think there is a chance the name would change though. It is now the oldest name in small trucks.

my father like i have sayed over and over works at dearborn at Ford i personally know a few guys heading up the new ranger design it WILL NOT be droped...
