I found a ranger!
I called around our area yesterday, and found a car lot that had what i was looking for, and is about 15 miles away. I just got back from looking at it. Its a 2000 Ranger 5spd Regular cab stepside....Orange with tan interior. It has 138k miles on it, but the interior looks brand new.....it is CLEAN. The paint has a few little scratches, and a very small ding on the tailgate, but its not bad at all. We are going back over there tommorrow to look at it again, and test drive it. It looks like its been taken very good care of.

We just got back from test driving it. It cranked up, and ran great. It doesn't feel like it has 138k miles on it. The steering didn't have any play in it, and the manual trans shifted through the gears without any problems. I've never drove a manual trans. truck on the road so I have a question. Do you have slowly shift and let out on the clutch kinda slow (not all at once) to get it to shift smoothly? When ever i'd rev it up in a gear (say going from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd) then shift it, if you didn't let the rpms drop before shifting, it would have a little jerk to it.
He said he'd take $5500 plus tax........does that sound about right for this truck?

I got my 2000 single cab 5sp in 04 with 45k miles. I bought it from a dealer for 7k with tax. so about 6k with no tax. I think 5500 is high.
