X2! I love my truck. Jeeps and full sized trucks serve 2 very different purposes. The Ranger IMO is a happy medium, small enough to go where most jeeps can go, and they have a bed to haul stuff.

I really dont understand all the hate for Rangers on this site! lol

We looked at the same Jeep again last night. That salesman wasn't too motivated, AT ALL, so I walked. I think we're looking in the Phoenix area to pick one up within the near future. Pain in the *** to find a 6-speed manual Rubicon. Only one within 200 miles of Vegas!

Do you want a 2 or 4 door? Also you do know that Jeep production has stop for about 30 to 60 more days. Give this guy a call he is in Scottsdale and may be able to help you. Also tell him someone from JKowners.com recommend them. Jason at Airpark Dodge Chrysler Jeep

I wanted to test drive one just to see what they drive like, at my local dealership you have to be 21 or older because of their insurance. I think they look really good lifted but I can't get over the crappyness of their interiors.

I'm talking about the plastics, IDK I just think that Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep have the worst quality interiors.

their interiors suck, the black plastics mark/scratch so easily and good luck keeping the black carpeting clean, and its a ***** to vacuum to boot.

Ranger makes sense for me.
Ranger- descent mpg, looks great, has a nice size bed, hauls trailers good, cheap to fix, offroads really well, doesn't cost a fortune to own, has plenty of leg room, oh did I mention they are by far the shapest small pickup on the road?

Jeep- offroads good, looks descent but costs 3x what my ranger did and the new V6 in them is a pile of poopy

i like how the fx4 off roads "really well" and the jeep off roads "good" lol. Rubicon vs FX4 would hurt that theory pretty bad lol I know the cost is there, but i have seen new Rangers go for close prices to the Jeeps these days. We're talking new for new. Talk old for old, a TJ's bang for buck would decimate a FX4's bang for buck off road any day. And the Jeeps retain value much better over the long haul

I'm not expecting to get a lot of hopes for the Jeep on this board. But it's a true off-roading vehicle with tons of aftermarket. I'm sick of the couple cheesy or stupid expensive lift choices for my Ranger. I'll get the same mpg as i do with my ranger, with a little more power than my 3.0L and be able to drop it in 4-lo, hit front/rear e-lockers and go to town!

I'm not hating on rangers I liked my ranger a lot and think they can be really capable off road but for what it takes to get them to that level is extremely expensive (sas, tires wheels, lockers, and soo much more). for some people including myself it makes more sense just to go with a jeep instead doing all that stuff to a ranger. Because even though jeeps may cost more in the end its cheaper to go that route if you want something for wheeling.

Yeah offroad jeeps kill Rangers stock for stock. But they ride terrible! I test drove a 06 Rubicon a few days ago and it would suck driving that every day, my truck drives so much nicer. But the jeep makes a great weekend wheeler.

Just get a wife that likes Rangers, I did! Now I have both, a LII and Rubicon.

As for the JK, I'd go used TJ. There are pros and cons to both, but the straight 6 is just too good to pass up. Plus the new JKs are too "luxury" for me....who needs power windows and locks?

I think it's partially that I'm ready for something new/different. I'm sure the JK has it's pros and con's. I REALLY want a manual shift truck, a very capable 4x4 that I can lift without worrying about stupid torsion bars or picking between a $1800 lift or body lift. I can get everything for the JK. I'll miss my bed though for sure, that will take some getting used to. But when i stick that sucker in 4-lo and hit the e-lockers, i'll be grinning ear to ear!

It's been a happy/sad day so far today. I've be De-Modding my Ranger all morning. Caddy horns, PA, CB, Antenna, Hi-lift, Gerry can, HIDs, Rain guards, bed mat, pulled the tune out of it, i'll probably swap out my FX4 cluster back to the white face gauges, and anything else I can think of. I'm headed to storage to grab my stock pulleys/belt so I can swap out my under-drive pulleys and toss my stock clutch fan back in.

I'll miss the lil' Ranger. But i think it'll be short lived once I get my Rubi'

Ranger Fanboyism FTL!

As much as I love my Ranger, I won't say that it is better then a Jeep off road, or imply such. I will say that it drives better on road and easier to fix.

You can't say a Ranger has more leg room then a Jeep. They are about equal in my book, and can you say full back seat?!?!?!

Oh, and just to **** people off.....

05 CHEVY SILVERADO FTW!

Watch that front axle, some have been known to crack and bend the outers. There is a sweet kit to brace and sleeve the tube.....

How is a Ranger easier to fix? I'd rather work on the TJ anyday. But have no experience with JKs, especially the V6

Sure a jeep is better offroad, but doesn't he currently have a 2wd? WTF? I owned a 2002 sahara with a lift, gears and 35's.... That thing was TERRABLE on the road. Had no bed, reguardless of what you THINK, jeeps are very cramped (I'm. 6 foot 3in tall). The new has the driveterrain of a damn jeep liberty!!!!! Those things are worthless. I'm sorry but they are. The old 4.0 was a tank. They should have left the 4.0 in there.

And no. I would rather push my ranger than drive a damn silverado... Your the fanboychevyism dude.
