Incase you cant tell, I love my buddy's rubi. BTW, make sure to disconnect the sway bar before doing stuff like this...that wasn't supposed to happen.

manual t-case, locked front and rear axle, roof and doors that just lift right out, drain plugs in the floor, so many handy little things haha, i want one so bad! but i still owe on my ranger, and the 06+ rubicons in canada (i want a 4 door) are still $25,000+ so not the thing for me right now. but i say go for it, there are so many aftermarket things for jeeps too, lots better then either a fabtech spindle lift, or a BL and thats it.

How is a Ranger easier to fix? I'd rather work on the TJ anyday. But have no experience with JKs, especially the V6
Thats good to know! Good thing my buddy is a certified welder lol. I think i'll do the gussets pretty soon after picking up the jeep. Since thats the easiest, and seems like a pretty decent preventative to tweaking things.

The guys that are bending the C's are running 35" plus tires. ORE makes a really nice set of gussets and I will be ordering a set next week.

Nope Sorry, but I think we're going to try and get this deal done this week. The wheels/tires are going with. If I was keeping the Ranger, I'd swap you tires, but the aluminums look good on mine. Should help my trade-in value some..need all i can get..

That's what I read. Still wouldn't be a bad idea to gusset the thing atleast from the get-go. Since I wouldn't have to take much apart and get a little more security.

If you are going to gusset it you should do the sleeves also and they are not that much more if you buy them together. I like Mel's design and these are what I am going to be running.

I'm hesitant to tear apart an axle I don't even have yet lol. My friend could do gussets in no time. I'll look into the sleeves more when I come around to looking into it a little more. It'll be stock for awhile, no 35's until the stock mtrs are dead!

If you are going to wait that long you will end up waiting about 20,000 miles or so. Alot of guys run a BB with the stock tires and focus on skid plates, bumpers and such. I would also either move the evap canister or get a skid plate for it as if you do any rocks you will knock it off.

My truck in Las Vegas, and my Truck in Florida are two totally different values.
lol ya i am yet to see a pre runner around here! 2wd lifted is just kinda slap in the face because the only places to go in Florida really are muddy as hell. but we still have beaches :P but personally im happy with my FJ :)

i test drove the 09 rubi to i was okay with it but i loike the FJ much more jsut my personal opinion i spend more time on the road then off the road so the xtra room was great not to mention theirs a very large amount of aftermarket support already! and stuffs is pretty cheap although the jeep does have more aftermarket by far i just love the 6 speed AWd and such

Do the sleeve at the same time. You should actually do it before welding the gussets, if you tweak the axle the SLIGHTEST bit you will never get a sleeve in there.
I'd do it even if I was running 31s, it's just a great relatively cheap way to make a strong axle w/o losing ground clearance. I'm still looking (hoping!) for a kit for TJs.

Does that white top on all of the FJ Cruisers come off? I have heard it does but have never seen it.
