Hi all,
i was all prepared for a tranny oil change and wow while draining , the oil over shot my 18 inch drainpan by a foot coming out sideways. I was really wanting to avoid a mess but oh well, the change went very well with a pump as suggested. I didnt spill a drop there!! my 89 mazda r1 hold just shy of 6 pints. In the future, i dont wanna line my drain pan directly under drain plug.....i gotta account for a horizontal pour ...you all have a nice Easter

I'm betting my mess was bigger when the oil filter got double gasketed on our 07 Explorer.

4 out of 5 quarts on the drive way in under 30 seconds. That was not fun to clean up.

how did you clean it??

Brake and parts cleaner, Then power wash it eventually.

Kitty litter to soak up the majority of it, then some super concentrated cleaner (blue liquid, makes simple green look weak), then power washed the driveway.

I cleaned it up asap though so I didn't have any staining or residual oil left all over the place that really needed "cleaned up" after the kitty litter.
