Yeh I agree with that I did it to my Pathfinder and it cost me an arm and a two legs, Now my ranger is starting to have major front end issues after thursdays wheelin incident, making it virtuely undriveable. Im not sure of wether to sas it or fix the stock suspension???
But the moral is swapping is ussualy alot more expensive, Kenny not trying to crush you dreams bc a 5.0 ranger is nasty but it will get expensive.

Why not find a low mileage short or long block that doesn't need a rebuild. You're already starting to turn it pricey . . .

(not trying to sound like an ***, but if I had a SOHC that just needed the timing chains, I wouldn't consider the swap at all)

yeah, If you really want a V8 Ranger I would build or buy a sweet v8 motor other than a exploder v8 and make it work. Much more worth your money. I would fix the motor you have, its got more ***** than a exploder 5.0 stock. I only did it because I had the 3.0, and I fured I might as well go 5.0 while I can. But I woulda been plenty happy with a great cond. 4.0

And you will need a new trans and transfer case. The stuff from your truck will not work. T-case will if you get the $500+ adapter though.
