I want a ranger need help

Hey there

Im looking at purchasing a 2007 Ranger FX4 level ll. The asking price is 10500 canadian. It has 153000 km. It is a manual, and is in near mint condition. I have always had import vehicles. My last was a 2009 tacoma. I'm curious how much life I may get out of a ranger. I'm very diligent in keeping my vehicles in great running shape. I understand that kind of a silly question. I want to keep it for a long time so I am shopping wisely. I love the look and it drives awesome. Any feed back would be appreciated on other ranger models I should look at. It must be 4x4

Thanks for the help

so the thing about rangers, the newer, the more that ford added to them. old ones had manual transfer cases, and manual hubs. around 96 they swapped to vac hubs. they fail often but have improved in 02 and up by doing a live front end, so that squashes that rumor. the 4.0 is the way to go. the gas mileage lacks a tad but they are good motors. very dependable. and the engineering is good too. strong and sturdy. the 4x4 system like i said is improved from 02 up with a live front end. so no hubs. mostly all newer rangers around 07 are kinda the same. expect 200-250k miles on your truck. if you average maintain it. 300-400 if you baby and go the extra mile all the time. and it depends on how it was taken care of by the previous owner. any more questions just ask\

2001 had live axle too? since when?
Frankly id rather be driving an 09 tacoma than my ranger, but 4 had ALOT to do with mine.
The fx4 will give you a limited slip and a strong rear end, but what you plan to do with your truck and how you use it will decide what features and options are good or bad.

*edit*
by live axle you didn't mean SOLID axel did you.
thats what i think when somebody says live axle to me.

Since always. The front axle in 2001 is the same in all the following years.

plus the options between fx4 level 1 or 2 and a base model gives a wider price range.
