I won the epic fail lottery

My Ranger's transmission pretty much spontaneously combusted pulling into my driveway last night. If it's running and I let out the clutch it makes a horrific grinding noise and stalls...in neutral.

Fluid was full of metallic particles. I'm pretty sure the clutch fork snapped off and went to the place where it would cause the most damage. I also get 1st or 4th gear, even when the truck isn't running.

Now, this is where I hit the epic fail lottery. I don't have the money to rebuild the transmission right now, so thankfully I have a spare '90 Ranger I can drive. The problem is that there is still a gaping hole in the floor from the T5 swap, it has no heat, and Maryland is already experiencing one of the coldest winters in years.

You know where the heater on your truck is? There's a turbocharger there on mine.

When you do a turbo swap in a Ranger there is no way to keep heat or A/C because the turbo and stock intercooler occupy the same space.

That sucks, man... duct tape that hole and layer up when you drive the truck. Hopefully you won't have to defrost the windows.

"Corn stove" is hereby signed into law and must be performed on said truck within 30 days. Otherwise stiff fines and penalties will apply.

So the transmission shop called today and told me the transmission is fooked. They said they might be able to rebuild it, but otherwise I'm getting a used one.

And silly neanderthals with your space heaters. I'm putting a fusion powered laser in the turbo truck to keep it warm until summer gets here!
